Inevidesk
As more organisations move towards a centralised approach to workstation infrastructure, Inevidesk is leading the way in high-specification GPU accelerated virtual desktop environments.
Deploying a world-class virtual desktop environment designed with architects and engineers in mind is no small feat, particularly when you throw in the requirement for robust GPU acceleration.
The rapid move towards remote working, including industries which typically rely on powerful on-premise workstations, has been a challenge too far for many virtual service platforms. Inevidesk has rewritten the playbook when it comes to VDI for the AEC sector, not only providing suitably powerful ‘vdesks’, but also delivering a hosted version of this service across a blisteringly fast and resilient network.
On top of all the technical prowess, Inevidesk required marketable private space to showcase its best-in-class platform, which would also serve as an additional layer of physical security for their hosted services.
So how do you best approach a challenge like this? Having direct access to private, flexible colocation space is a major part of that puzzle, to allow for rapid upward scalability as your service set takes hold in the market.
Inevidesk is the crown jewel service of Inevitech, a forward-reaching technology outfit comprised of highly experienced industry specialists, who have been working with Netwise on previous projects as far back as 2017.
The Inevidesk team approached Netwise in late 2021 to propose the deployment of a private pod within the forthcoming Netwise London East data centre, which would be completing in early 2022. This would house the organisations new flagship hosted VDI platform, designed from the ground up to change the way in which high-demand computer aided design studios do their work, both in the office, at home and on the road.
For this type of client, only the very best will do. Real-time collaboration on large, complex 3D files can now happen between teams around the world, with no hit on performance when compared with a local system. This removes the need for local workstations and server equipment, allowing users to benefit from centralisation concepts, improved flexibility, and an always-on approach to service availability as made possible by the underlying data centre infrastructure.
The primary Inevidesk platform has been expertly installed into a private pod of racks with custom security features, including enhanced RFID and PIN code access control. This approach to private space enhances enclosure security, and allows for custom branding, which is fantastic for making a feature out of an otherwise hidden side of the operation.
The high-powered servers deployed within this space not only connect to our world-class transit network for global breakout, but also to a private Layer 2 P2P link which connects back to racks in our London Central data centre, for high-performance interconnection services.
Inevidesk also makes effective use of our flexible and scalable power options, which enable automated dynamic growth with demand, in real-time.
The team at Inevidesk are a rare breed of talent and capability, who clearly take as much pride in their own in-rack deployments as we do across the wider facility. As a result, we have a well-aligned and long-standing relationship which we’re sure will continue to grow in the years to come.
